How do I create a Personal AccountBookshelf?

If you have not already created an account, click on the Sign in button in the left-hand frame, then click on the link that says Do you need a new ebrary account?. A new window will open. Follow the instructions on this new page to complete your account creation.
When you finish creating your Personal AccountBookshelf you will automatically be signed in. Next time you visit this site, use the Sign in button to sign in using your username and password, then begin using ebrary.

How do I sign in if I forgot my password?

Click the Sign in button in the left-hand frame, then enter your ebrary user name in the field under the "Forgot your password?" label and click the Send button. Your password will be emailed to the most recent email address that we have on file for you.
If you don't remember your username, or you think your email address may have changed (and you didn't tell us) then contact Customer Support.

How do I change my password?

After signing in, click on the AccountBookshelf tab, then click on the Change Password link. Follow the instructions. The change will take effect immediately.

How do I add funds to my Personal Account?

  1. Sign in.
  2. Click on the AccountBookshelf tab
  3. Click the View Account Info / Add Funds link.
  4. Make sure your account information is up to date (especially your name and address, since this information is used for credit card verification).
  5. Fill out the form and click the Add Funds to Account button.
To prevent the transaction from being repeated, only click the button once. The transaction may take a couple minutes to complete depending on the speed of your internet connection.

How do I sign out?

Sign in and Sign out

Why should I sign out?

If you are using a shared computer (e.g. a terminal in your library), you should sign out so that others don't intentionally or unintentionally use your Personal Bookshelf or use your Account funds to perform copies and prints.

I sign in, and am then immediately signed out.

Can I use my Personal Bookshelf on any ebrary site?

Your Personal Bookshelf will work with most libraries and institutions that subscribe to ebrary, however the institution must:
  • use the standard ebrary sign-in, like this site does and
  • subscribe to the same content in order for you to access your saved documents.
For example, if your current college subscribes to the ebrary "Academic Complete" collection, then you transfer to a university that only subscribes to ebrary's Humanities collection, some of the documents in your Bookshelf may not be accessible through the new institution..
